Robust Faculty Profiles

A robust profile is created by entering additional information manually, which leads to more exposure, including better networking opportunities, new research collaborations, and ways to discover subject matter experts.

Faculty profiles are automatically populated with University contact information, grants, and publication data exported from various sources across the enterprise.

Next steps:

  1. Add details to your profile (e.g., teaching and research interests, certifications, honors, awards, and additional roles at the University, etc.) via Faculty Success.  Samer Ahmed (saz15@miami.edu), the College’s web developer, is pre-assigned as your proxy. Please reach out to her for assistance with updates or corrections.  If you would like to delegate your Faculty Success profile editing, please submit a request for proxy access.

  2. To add a profile photo and/or “about me” biography, contact Samer Ahmed (saz15@miami.edu). These items will remain within the People site and will continue to be managed by Samer Ahmed or your department IT support. Both faculty and staff have option to add their photo and professional biography into the people site.

  3. Publications and grants are automatically populated via Scholarship@Miami, no manual entry will be required for these items. To modify or add publications/grants to your profile, please submit a Data Change Request form. This video provides step-by-step instructions on how to submit publications to your Scholarship@Miami profile which will also populate your People profile.  Faculty will need an ORCID for the publications and grant to come through. If you haven’t already, please set up your ORCID here: https://orcid.scholarship.miami.edu/

  4. You can contact Samer Ahmed (saz15@miami.edu) to help guide you in creating the most robust profile possible.

  5. Schedule a 1-1 virtual training session to demo how the Faculty Success system works, how to add details to the faculty profiles, and how the information will be displayed on the People site. We’ll also be able to answer any questions you may have. To do so, please reach out to FacultyProfiles@miami.edu.
